ARTIST STATEMENT:

It is said that the eyes are windows to the soul. In many parts of the world, the only parts of a woman that can be seen in public are the eyes. Even though the rest of the face is covered, her eyes can express emotion. Sadness, happiness, surprise, anger, and bewilderment all are implied in this piece.
